Overview
WhiteBIT divides order types into Basic (simple, common orders) and Advanced (orders with additional conditions or complexity) to simplify selection for traders.
Order Types by Market
Spot Market
Basic Orders include the following types:
- Market Order (an order to buy or sell instantly at the best available price, prioritizing speed over price certainty)
- Limit Order (an order to buy or sell at a specified price or better, prioritizing price control over immediate execution)
Advanced Orders include the following types:
- Advanced Limit (a Limit Order with additional execution conditions: Post-only, BBO, or IOC)
- Stop-Market (an order that triggers a Market Order when the asset reaches a specified stop price)
- Stop-Limit (an order that triggers a Limit Order when the asset reaches a specified stop price)
- Multi-Limit (an order that places multiple Limit Orders simultaneously at different price levels)
Futures and Margin Markets
Basic Orders include the following types:
- Market Order (an order to buy or sell instantly at the best available price)
- Limit Order (an order to buy or sell at a specified price or better)
Advanced Orders include the following types:
- Advanced Limit (a Limit Order with Post-only, BBO, or IOC execution conditions)
- Stop-Market (triggers a Market Order when the stop price is reached)
- Stop-Limit (triggers a Limit Order when the stop price is reached)
- Multi-Limit (places multiple Limit Orders at different price levels simultaneously)
- OCO (One-Cancels-the-Other: a combination of two linked orders (Limit and Stop-Limit), where the execution of one order automatically cancels the other.
Limit vs. Advanced Limit
The Limit Order functionality is divided into two types:
- Basic Limit Order (Good-Till-Cancelled by default, remains active until filled or manually cancelled)
- Advanced Limit Order (includes additional execution options: Post-only prevents taker fees, BBO improves queue position, IOC cancels unfilled portions immediately)
