Nóva Card – Quick FAQ

In which countries is the WhiteBIT Nova card available?

The Nova debit card is available for users from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Ukraine.
With the Nova card, you can make purchases in any country except those listed as prohibited countries and territories.

What types of Nova cards are available, and how do they differ?

When applying, you can choose the type of card you prefer: physical or virtual.

  • For the physical WhiteBIT Visa card, you provide your full address and the card is shipped to you by DHL Standard, DHL Express, or standard mail with different delivery times and fees.
  • For the virtual card, there is no physical delivery; the digital card is available immediately after approval and activation.

A PIN code is not available for the Nova virtual card – you can set, change, or view a PIN code only for the plastic version of the card.
Cash withdrawals at ATMs are available only for physical cards and only via contact method (no NFC cash withdrawal for physical or virtual cards).

Do I need a separate card balance, or are funds debited from my exchange account?

The total amount available for payment is shown in EUR and is dynamically calculated based on your selected assets available on your Main balance on the exchange.
When making payments with the Nova card, the available balance from your exchange account is automatically deducted, and there is no option to top up the card directly – all transactions are carried out within the available balance.

What fees and limits apply to the Nova card?

The card has no monthly fee, no inactivity fee, and no card cancellation fee. Transaction fees are up to 1%. The maximum daily spending limit is 10,000 EUR and monthly — 25,000 EUR. For the full breakdown of fees, limits and ATM conditions, see Nova Card Fees, Limits and Restricted MCCs.

Can I withdraw cash from ATMs and how much does it cost?

Cash withdrawals at ATMs are available only for physical cards and only via the contact method (cash withdrawal via NFC for physical or virtual cards is not available).
ATM withdrawals are charged 3 EUR per withdrawal in the EEA and 3 EUR + 2.2% outside the EEA, with daily and monthly ATM withdrawal limits as described above.

Can I transfer money to other bank cards or accounts?

Nova debit cards are intended only for the payment of goods and services.
Fund transfers between cards and to other bank cards are not supported, and all payments are processed within the available balance on your exchange account.

How does cashback work, and how can I choose my categories?

The cashback balance is displayed at the top of the screen as a gift icon.
The maximum cashback limit is 25 EUR per month, but you can withdraw it only when you have accumulated at least 5 USDC; even if you reach the limit on the first day, it will not be credited until the beginning of the next month.

Each cashback category specifies the MCC codes of stores where cashback is credited; if the store’s MCC does not match your selected category, cashback will not be credited.
You can select 3 active categories and change them once every 7 days; changes may take up to 24 hours to take effect.

Cashback is shown in BTC or WBT, with the option to change the currency after each cashback withdrawal, and is not credited for transactions made in restricted territories.

What should I do if my Nova card has not arrived?

If you have not received the physical card within the specified delivery period, you first need to freeze the physical card in its settings in the card image tab.
After that, contact the support team at support@whitebit.com, describe your request in detail and provide consent to close the physical card; a new card can be issued after the current card is closed.

What should I do if a payment is declined or does not go through?

A payment can be cancelled or declined for several reasons – please check the following:

  • Balance: make sure there are enough funds on the Main balance (not the trading balance), including the fee.
  • Limits: the payment may exceed your daily or monthly limit; check the current values and remaining limit on the card dashboard.
  • Online limits: your card may have a limit on online payments; check the settings.
  • Limited services: some services are not supported – payments with MCC codes that are not allowed for this card will be automatically rejected.
  • Security restrictions: if you have recently changed your password or disabled 2FA, your account may be subject to a withdrawal restriction for 72 hours.

If you see an Incorrect PIN error for a physical card, change the PIN code in the mobile app (Card settings → Change PIN), then perform an operation at an ATM (for example, balance inquiry or cash withdrawal) so that the new PIN is written to the card chip before using it again at POS terminals.
If the payment failed because the Nova card is not available for use in this country, check the list of unsupported countries in the detailed country list (link).

What should I do if I lose my card or suspect fraud?

If you suspect that your card has been lost, stolen, or used without your authorisation, go to the Card settings section in the app, select the relevant card (physical or virtual), and tap Freeze to temporarily block it.
This will block further transactions on the card; after that, contact WhiteBIT support (request form or support@whitebit.com) with details so that the team can assist you with your situation.

Does the Nova card offer any partnership benefits?

Yes. Nóva cardholders get a 10% discount on Juventus membership and home match tickets — both activated after your first purchase with the Nóva card in EUR.
