We are constantly updating the functionality of our exchange, adding new tools and improving existing ones. This is especially true when it comes to security. To keep you informed, we have prepared a guide about the “Account” section so that you understand all the options for customising your account and can quickly implement almost any feature in the exchange's mobile application.
You can find the settings section by clicking on your nickname in the top left corner of the app's home page.
When you open the tab, you will see six blocks, each of which is designed to work with specific aspects of your account settings:
- Account switcher.
- Membership.
- Nickname, Verification, KYB, Subaccount, AML verification, Security, API, Access via USSD menu.
- Language, Widgets, Settings, Notifications, Current leverage, Support, Juristic documents, Information about WhiteBIT.
- Delete account.
- Log out.
Account switcher
In this block, you can switch between your main account and sub-accounts. You can also search for an account by nickname and go to the sub-account management section. In addition, you can copy your nickname.
Membership
Here you can view your current account level, spot trading volume, and average balance. You can also go to the trading page and top up your balance. In addition, there are the terms and conditions and a brief description of the VIP program. Read more about the VIP program in our article.
Nickname
To ensure the highest level of protection for your personal data, we have implemented a nickname system where each exchange user has a unique tag and number. The nickname consists of two parts: a random name (adjective + cryptocurrency name) and a four-digit tag (e.g. #1111). While the first part of a user's nickname may be the same, the numerical tag makes it unique. To change your nickname, edit it in the appropriate field and click “Savе”.
Please note: tags can only be changed if the nickname is changed; users cannot choose tags themselves, as they are assigned randomly. You can only change your nickname yourself once.
Verification
By clicking on the “Verification” section, you can view your current KYC verification status, available levels, and their brief descriptions. In this section, you can also initiate verification for a specific level. For more information about KYC verification, please read the article in our Help Centre.
KYB
Here you can generate a link to complete the KYB procedure (verification of users who wish to create a corporate account) on WhiteBIT and view the current status of your application.
Subaccount
Subaccount are additional accounts that can be linked to your main account. This feature opens up new possibilities for managing your investments.
Each user can add up to 10 subaccounts to their account. This allows you to save and diversify the funds of your main account while testing different trading strategies.
AML-check
On this page, you can check an address for involvement in money laundering. Only users who have passed KYB verification can perform the check. All you need to do is select the currency for verification, enter the address, and pay 1 USDT (fee for each check). In addition, you can view the history of your previous checks in this section.
Please note: for users who hold WBT in Holding, a certain number of free checks are available depending on the Holding level.
Security
In this section, you can manage your account security settings, such as changing your password, managing addresses, activating two-factor authentication, and more.
PIN-code
You can set or remove the PIN code required to log into the exchange's mobile application. To create a PIN code, simply come up with and enter a 4-digit number, then confirm the code by entering it again. To remove the PIN code, enter the code you created earlier.
Enable biometrics
Here you will find a switch to activate login to the mobile app using Face ID or fingerprint. If you want to disable this feature, simply deactivate the switch.
Change password
Click “Change Password” to change your current password for logging into your account. A form will open where you need to enter your current password, specify a new one, and confirm the change.
Please note: before changing your password, make sure you have 2FA enabled. Otherwise, you will not be able to withdraw funds for 3 days.
Two-factor authentication
Two-factor Authentication (2FA) is an identity verification to access your account, providing an additional level of security. In this section, you can scan the QR code and activate 2FA and the Passkey.
Saved cards
Here you can add your bank card to make it faster and easier to make a deposit to your account. To add a card, you need to enter the card number, expiry date, name (optional), your first and last name, country of residence, address, city and postcode.
Allowlist
In this section, you can add addresses that you use for withdrawals to the whitelist. To add a new address, activate the “Enable whitelist” switch and enter your 2FA. The whitelist feature helps protect your funds by allowing you to withdraw them only to addresses on this list. This means that if you add an address to the whitelist, you will only be able to withdraw funds to that address.
Payment details
You can add a payment address to make it easier and faster to make a deposit to your WhiteBIT account. To do this, you need to enter your account details in the appropriate form.
Automatic logout time
In this section, you can set the time for automatic logout from your account in case of inactivity. If you logged into your account and forgot to log out, this feature will close access to your account for the device you used to log in. Available time intervals are 30 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day, 7 days, 14 days, and 30 days.
Login via QR-code
Another convenient method of logging into the exchange for users of our mobile application. You can now log in to your profile on the web version of the exchange using a QR code. You can enable or disable this feature in this tab.
Anti-phishing code
By confirming your anti-phishing code, you can prevent phishing attempts from fake WhiteBIT websites or emails. To go to settings, click “Continue”, enter the code and click “Save”. To confirm the operation, enter the 2FA code.
Login history
This tab displays the history of logins to your account from all devices.
Device management
You can log in to your account from different devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and other computers. In the “Device Management” section, you can cancel either a specific session by clicking “Delete” or all active sessions from all devices at once by clicking on the trash can icon.
App authorization
In this section, you can view active integration sessions and disable them if necessary. For example, if your WhiteBIT account is linked to the FaceIT platform, this information will be displayed in the “App authorization” section. To terminate an active session, simply click “Delete” next to the corresponding block.
Account connections
Here you can add or disable a third-party account, such as a Google or Apple ID, to log in to your WhiteBIT account.
Web3
You can also log in to WhiteBIT using a Web3 wallet. To use this feature, you need to install an extension for your wallet in your browser and enable two-factor authentication on the exchange. In the “Web3” block, find the wallet you need in the list. If your wallet is not on the list, click “I’m lucky”, which will allow the system to detect the wallet extension connected to your browser.
API
An application programming interface (API) key is a unique code used to identify an application or user. API keys are used to track and control who is using the API and how. There are two options in this tab.
API keys
In this section, you can generate an API key and configure it by selecting the appropriate access permissions in the endpoint access restrictions section. To create a key, click “Create API key”, enter the 2FA code, come up with a name for the key, activate the necessary access permissions, and click “Confirm”.
The total number of API keys generated for an account is 20. The IP address access restriction limit for each API key is also 20.
Please note: thanks to the automatic deactivation feature, the API key will be automatically disabled if there is no activity for 14 days. The validity period of the keys can be viewed by clicking on “API keys”.
Webhook
This feature allows you to receive notifications about code activation or balance top-up confirmation. Click “Continue”. In the window that opens, enter the webhook address and click “Generate key”. Enter the 2FA code and click “Confirm”. Done!
Access via USSD menu
The USSD menu feature allows you to access certain operations on the WhiteBIT exchange without an internet connection. Users from Ukraine who use the services of the mobile operator lifecell can connect their exchange account to their lifecell number and have access to viewing their balance, transferring and exchanging funds, as well as obtaining an address for deposits. If this feature is not connected, click “Create code”. Enter the 2FA code and follow the instructions.
Language
By going to the “Language” tab, you will be able to change the language of the application or communication (the language of system/marketing emails and push notifications). To do this, select “Interface” or “Communication”, choose one of the available languages from the list and click “Change language”.
Please note: if the text of communication is not available in any of the languages you have selected, you will receive an email in English by default.
Widget markets
Here you can add a widget to the home screen of your mobile device. Using this feature, you can view the current cryptocurrency rates without logging into the exchange. Select the pairs you want to track from the list of markets by clicking on the ‘+’ button located to the left of each trading pair.
Customization
In this section, you can customise the design of the WhiteBIT mobile app. For example, you can change the colour scheme (dark, light or system) and the background colour of the home page, select the app icon and the page that will be displayed after logging into the app (Home, Trade or Wallet), activate or deactivate the Haptic option, which enables tactile feedback (the phone vibrates when you press buttons, switch options or make gestures (swipe, confirm action, etc.).
Notifications
Here you can enable or disable certain notifications that you will receive on your mobile device. For example, notifications about liquidation, order execution, WhiteBIT code activation, etc.
Your current leverage
Leverage is the ratio of borrowed funds to your own funds that you use in margin trading. You can manage it in the “Account” section. Click on the “Your current leverage” line, select the amount using the slider, and click “Select”.
Please note: changing your leverage will affect all your positions in margin and futures trading.
Support
Clicking on the “Support” line in the application will open a page with all possible options for contacting our support service: online chat, ticket creation, email, phone call, and WhatsApp.
Juristic documents
In this section, you can read our User Agreement, AML Policy, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy.
WhiteBIT info
Here you can update the application and view your current version of the mobile application. You can also view the “About Us” page, where you can find a brief description of our exchange — what kind of platform it is, what the crypto exchange was created for, the company's mission and values, information about reliability and security — the approach to protecting funds and data, the main features of the platform, and information about the exchange's partners. In addition, information is available on fees for deposits, withdrawals, and trading operations.
Delete account
With this option, you can delete your account yourself.
Please note: deleting your account is irreversible. Once confirmed, you will lose access to your account and will not be able to view your transaction history.
What happens when you delete your account?
- All trading capabilities and access to your account will be disabled.
- All API keys for your account will be deleted.
- All devices for your account will be deleted.
- All pending withdrawals will be cancelled.
- All open orders will be cancelled.
Account recovery
If you changed your mind after deleting your account, you can restore it. To do so, please contact customer support within 14 days of deletion.
Re-registration
After deleting your account, you will not be able to register a new account with the same email address for 14 days.
However, you can create a new account using a different email address to re-register.
Log out
By clicking this button, you can log out of your WhiteBIT account in the mobile application.
