Buy Crypto error codes (Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank card)

When purchasing cryptocurrency through the Buy Crypto feature using a bank card (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, or Google Pay), some transactions may be declined by the payment provider or issuing bank.

Below are the most common error codes, their meanings, and recommendations for resolving them.

Please note: these decline reasons pertain specifically to the payment provider's side and do not include any possible restrictions or declines from WhiteBIT.

Common payment errors

Code Title What it means What to do
20061 Card Limit Exceeded The purchase amount exceeds your card’s withdrawal or spending limit. Try a smaller amount or contact your bank.
20005 Transaction Declined Your bank declined the payment without a specific reason. Try another card or contact your bank.
20051 Insufficient Funds There are not enough funds on your card/account. Top up your balance or use another payment method.
20059 Security Block Your bank blocked the transaction for security reasons. Confirm the payment in your banking app and retry.
20078 Card Inactive The card is inactive or not enabled for online payments. Activate your card or use another one.
20182 Verification Failed The 3D Secure verification was not completed successfully. Ensure you enter the correct SMS/app verification code.
2005C Transaction Limit Exceeded The maximum number of allowed transactions has been reached. Wait and try later or use another card.
2009G Transaction Declined The provider’s security system rejected the transaction. Contact support for assistance.
20183 Authentication Error Your bank could not complete identity verification. Use a card with 3D Secure enabled.
41101 Account Closed The card or account has been closed. Use an active card.
20012 Invalid Transaction The transaction was recognized as invalid by the bank. Verify your payment details and try again.
41202 Bank System Error Temporary technical issue on the bank side. Retry after a few minutes.
20058 Transaction Not Allowed Your card does not allow this type of transaction. Contact your bank to enable online or crypto-related payments.
20093 Purchase Failed A technical processing error occurred. Retry later or contact support.
20003 Declined by Bank Your bank does not permit this type of payment. Try another payment method or bank.
20065 Too Many Attempts Too many purchase attempts were made in a short period. Wait some time before retrying.
20154 Security Issue The payment failed provider security checks. Contact support for assistance.
20063 Security Violation The bank declined the payment for security reasons. Try another card.
20062 Restricted Card Your card has bank-imposed restrictions. Use another card or contact your bank.
20082 Incorrect CVV The CVV/CVC code was entered incorrectly. Re-enter the correct security code.
43102 Card Blocked The card has been blocked by the provider or bank. Use a different card.
20054 Expired Card The card has expired. Use a valid card.
30004 Account Issue There is an issue with your account setup. Contact support for assistance.
20179 Card Not Supported This card type is not supported by the provider. Use a standard Visa or Mastercard card.
20013 Invalid Amount The entered amount is invalid or outside the allowed limits. Adjust the amount and try again.
20014 Invalid Card Number The card number was entered incorrectly. Check the card number and retry.
20122 Security Code Error The bank could not verify the security code. Re-check your card details.
Transaction Failed The reason for the decline could not be identified. Try another payment method or contact support.

Recommendations Before Retrying

Before making another purchase attempt, please ensure that:

 

  • Your card supports online and international payments;
  • 3D Secure verification is enabled;
  • Sufficient funds are available on your balance;
  • Your bank allows cryptocurrency-related transactions;
  • Card details were entered correctly;
  • You have not exceeded transaction or withdrawal limits.
